As I approach him gently with some fruit and a small milk bottle, he barely responds. My heart sank.

We immediately started supportive care: offering him electrolytes, keeping him warm, and observing every movement. Baby monkeys, just like human infants, can fall ill suddenly, and their little bodies can’t always tell us what’s wrong.
Despite the worry, there were small signs of hope. A twitch of his fingers, a blink of his eyes, the soft curl of his tail around my arm. These gestures reminded me that even in his weak state, he was still here, still fighting quietly.
