LiBi peed wet the blanket

Early one cozy morning in the animal sanctuary, the sun had just begun to peek through the green canopy of leaves. Birds chirped softly, and the gentle rustling of trees filled the air. Inside a little enclosure, a baby monkey named LiBi slowly woke up, blinking his sleepy eyes as the light touched his furry face.

LiBi was a sweet and mischievous little monkey, full of energy, curiosity, and affection. He had big sparkling eyes, a soft golden-brown coat, and tiny hands that always reached out to hold onto anything nearby—whether it was a branch, a toy, or the hand of his caretaker. He was loved by everyone in the sanctuary.

That morning, however, something unusual happened.

LiBi had slept soundly all night, wrapped snugly in his favorite baby blanket—a soft, blue one with little yellow stars. It was his comfort and his joy. But when one of the caregivers came to check on him, they noticed something unexpected. The blanket was soaked. At first, they wondered if a water bottle had spilled—but quickly realized the truth.

LiBi had peed during his sleep.

The little monkey looked confused at first. He noticed the wetness, tilted his head, and poked the damp spot with a curious finger. He sniffed it, then looked at the caregiver as if to ask, “What happened here?”

His caretaker, a kind young woman named Srey, laughed softly and said, “Oh LiBi… you had an accident, didn’t you?” Her tone was warm and gentle. She wasn’t angry—not at all. It was a natural part of growing up, and she knew that even baby monkeys, just like human toddlers, sometimes made mistakes.

LiBi watched as Srey picked up the wet blanket and laid it out in the sun to dry. She gave LiBi a fresh, clean towel and cuddled him in her arms. “It’s okay, baby,” she whispered. “It happens. We’ll get you all cleaned up.”

LiBi clung to her, feeling safe and comforted. Even though he didn’t fully understand what had happened, he could tell from Srey’s voice and hug that everything was going to be fine. She gently washed his bottom and dried him with a warm cloth, humming a soft lullaby the whole time.

As the morning went on, LiBi seemed extra quiet—maybe a little embarrassed, though he didn’t have words for that feeling. He sat quietly on Srey’s lap, chewing on a little piece of fruit, peeking occasionally at the drying blanket. The other young monkeys were bouncing and playing nearby, but LiBi stayed close to Srey.

To help lift his spirits, Srey brought out his favorite toy—a soft stuffed monkey named BoBo. The moment LiBi saw it, his face lit up with joy. He hugged BoBo tightly, then began to play again, slowly returning to his usual self.

Later that day, the sun had dried the blanket completely. It smelled fresh and warm from the sun’s rays. Srey folded it and brought it back to LiBi, who squeaked with delight and rubbed his face against it.

That night, when bedtime came, LiBi was placed gently onto the clean blanket. Before sleeping, he looked up at Srey, who smiled and kissed his head. “No worries tonight, little one,” she said. “We learn every day.”

And just like that, LiBi curled up, clutching BoBo and his freshly dried blanket, and drifted peacefully to sleep.

The moment was small, but it held something powerful: the beauty of care, patience, and understanding between humans and the animals they love. It showed that mistakes are not things to be ashamed of, but gentle reminders of growth.

Even though LiBi peed on the blanket, what mattered most was the loving way he was treated, and how he was taught with kindness, not scolding. In that peaceful corner of the sanctuary, LiBi continued to grow—one lesson, one cuddle, and one clean blanket at a time.
