Tears of Lily: When Libby the Monkey Turns Mean

Every day, little Lily sits under the tall tree with tears in her eyes. She used to laugh and swing through the branches, but things have changed. Libby, once her friend, now treats her unkindly. Libby pushes her, takes her food, and mocks her small size. Lily doesn’t understand why. They used to play together—two monkeys sharing the sunlight and jungle songs.

Now, Lily feels alone. Even when others are near, her heart feels heavy. She cries quietly, hoping someone will notice. Her mother holds her sometimes, brushing away her tears with gentle fingers. But the hurt stays.

Libby doesn’t see the pain she causes. Maybe she’s struggling too. But every mean word, every shove, chips away at Lily’s joy.

One day, another young monkey, Milo, sits beside Lily. He offers her a fruit and a smile. “Don’t cry,” he says. It’s not a solution, but it’s a start. And sometimes, kindness is enough to remind someone they matter.
