Lily is a young monkey with a soft heart and big eyes full of wonder. But lately, she’s been sad. Every day, Libby, another young monkey, does something that makes Lily cry. Sometimes she pulls her tail, other times she pushes her off the branch they like to sit on. It’s not always rough, but it’s enough to make Lily feel hurt and small.
She doesn’t know why Libby acts this way. Maybe Libby is having a hard time too, but Lily only knows how sad it makes her.
She spends her afternoons quiet and away from the others. But one day, a gentle monkey named Tiki sits next to her and says, “I see you, Lily.” It makes her cry again—but this time, not from pain.
Maybe tomorrow will be better.
